What Makes Us Different?

Student Review

Our academy is very unique when compared with the average martial art school.  The academy consists of a small, devoted group of serious, dedicated students
who have a common connection; they all want to learn the martial art known as Wing Chun Kung Fu.

Since this martial art academy is not commercial, we have limited space; therefore, all students are initially on a three month probationary status.  All students are
expected to take their study seriously, and attend classes regularly.  As a result, the members of the academy consider each other like “family members”.

What The Kung Fu Exchange Will Never Do:

  1. We will never try to sell to any potential student into becoming a member.  We are not commercialized, therefore we do not need to sell anyone, nor are there
any contracts.  All students are on a month to month tuition.
  2. The Kung Fu Exchange never uses fear mongering tactics to recruit a student body. Having had several years of law enforcement experience we know that
the spread of fear only causes more fear and chaos.
  3. You will never, ever see the Kung Fu Exchange use religious overtones to recruit a student body. We accept all people and won't force our views on you.
  4. The Kung Fu Exchange never teaches commercially popular martial arts, but sticks to what has worked for hundreds of years; verifiable, and traditional
instruction passed on from generation to generation.  We rely on teaching quality not quantity.

‘Show me a fighter who is all heart and no skill and I’ll show you a badly beaten fighter’.

At the academy, we pride ourselves in practicing a traditional martial art with a modern look at self-offense.  Many schools self-proclaim to teach you life and death
skills by using fear as an aid to generate student enrollment. These same schools often have no validity in their combative backgrounds.  They often provide their
students with a false sense of security and no true street survival skills.

The academy has a rich, verifiable background which was passed down from first hand experience and from past generations; therefore, we know what it takes to
survive a violent encounter.  With our last three generations of instructors having documented training in both private and government hand-to-hand combat, our
training model has been successfully battle-field tested.  The academy focuses on both physical and mental/psychological aspects, with a healthy dose of reality
needed to survive a violent encounter.

Our Process of Selecting Students

When an applicant contacts us, he or she will be called within one week.   After a phone interview, the applicant may be granted permission to sit in on a class.
During the next week, if the applicant is interested in becoming a student, he or she must contact the academy to request a second visit.  During this visit, the
potential student must bring comfortable training clothes so that he or she can participate in the class.  Prior to the person's commitment to attend the academy, we
want to make sure that the atmosphere matches the applicant's expectations.  Sifu will contact the applicant during the next few days to discuss probationary
admittance into the academy.

Class Schedule:

Classes meet on Tuesday, Thursday at 7:45 pm, and Saturday at 11:45 am.  All classes are approximately two hours long. The format for the Saturday class will be
an open workout, and questions and answers forum. This class is strongly recommended, because it will be an open discussion, questions and answers forum giving
you the ability to tighten the slack, and refine any areas that you feel you need to work on.

Contact Us:

If you interested in scheduling an appointment to speak with Sifu, please contact him at brian@kungfuexchange.com, either Sifu or his senior student will contact

Not All Martial Art Schools are Equal:

When looking for a school to learn a combative martial art it's recommended that you use discretion.  Not all martial arts schools teach realistic, modern combat.  In
fact many schools attempt to attract their students by showing fancy, fast, and theatrical movements while making silly sounds as a way to impress and shock you;
as opposed to practicality.  This is a perfect example of what the late, great Bruce Lee called "The classical mess".  Please check out the student review below.
